Tokyo Yamathon 2025 Distributes ¥14.85 Million to Community Impact Organizations

Tokyo, Japan — December 2025


The International Volunteer Group – Japan (IVG-Japan), organizer of the Tokyo Yamathon, today announced the distribution of participation and fundraising challenge fees collected from the 2025 Tokyo Yamathon, representing the collective efforts of event participants.


The 2025 Tokyo Yamathon welcomed 1,008 participants, reflecting continued growth in community engagement and support for social impact initiatives.

The event generated a total of ¥14,850,800 (approximately USD 94,152 at an exchange rate of ¥157/USD). In accordance with the event’s distribution framework, funds were allocated equally to the following organizations:


  • Tochigi Conservation Corps

  • Waffle

  • Japan Children’s Hospice Association

  • World Central Kitchen


Beyond financial contributions, the Tokyo Yamathon benefited from substantial volunteer engagement. More than 300 volunteers supported event operations and related activities, contributing a combined 6,850 service hours, representing an estimated ¥8,500,000 in community value.


The Tokyo Yamathon is designed to deliver measurable outcomes by combining physical challenge, volunteer participation, and transparent fund distribution in support of organizations addressing critical social and environmental needs.


Community Impact Partner Recruitment – Tokyo Yamathon 2026

Building on the outcomes of the 2025 event, IVG-Japan has begun preparations for the 2026 Tokyo Yamathon, tentatively planned for October 2026.

As part of this planning, IVG-Japan is opening its Community Impact Partner recruitment process for nonprofit and community-based organizations operating in Japan. Selected partners will receive financial support generated through participant fundraising, as well as visibility and volunteer engagement through the Tokyo Yamathon platform.


Community Impact Partners are selected through a structured review process that evaluates:

  • Mission alignment with community and social impact objectives

  • Organizational transparency and governance

  • Demonstrated ability to translate funding into measurable outcomes

  • Capacity to engage with volunteers and corporate participants


Organizations interested in being considered as 2026 Community Impact Partners are encouraged to review the partner information available on the Tokyo Yamathon website, where application details and timelines will be published.
